Basic Info

Zane is a sickly, calculative, power-hungry doctor determined to find a way to surpass the limits of his frail body. He's a cynical misanthrope, rarely caring who he hurts to achieve his own ends. He despises emotions, trying to stay deadpan and composed at all times, but his quick temper prevents him from consistently achieving his goals.

  • If he respects a person or finds them to be of use, he's quite accommodating. Otherwise, he is grumpy, rude, and reclusive.
  • He's a total buzzkill when it comes to humor, often taking things literally. Despite this, he's quite sarcastic himself, but tends to clarify his sarcasm, even when it's obvious.
  • He doesn't have a firm grasp on how 'normal' people tend to act, thus may do rather awkward things to try to fit in. He also has a tendency to copy others; if someone pats him on the head, he will pat them back.
  • While he's normally not one for unnecessary bloodshed, he is very vengeful and may throw logic to the curb to get his revenge.
  • He dislikes breaking laws, but enjoys bending them. (Ex: He would not murder, but if he can talk someone into suicide or get someone else to kill them, that's fine.)
  • He is very passionate about biology, especially anatomy. He enjoys slicing dead things open to see how they tick.
  • Despite being a doctor, Zane is incapable of casting healing magic, even in canons where he's a master spellcaster.
    • This is not due to lack of dedication. He desperately wants the ability, but simply doesn't have any talent for it.
    • He is extremely envious of anyone who can magically "fix" people. He spent years of training and dedication to become a doctor, only for someone to magically "fix" people far better than he ever could. He has a big inferiority complex over it.

    Trivia

    • Zane's middle name, Eugenius, was chosen by himself as an adult. It, ironically, means 'well born.'
    • He speaks flowery English, throwing in Middle English terms on a whim, because he feels it makes him sound more high class.
    • Despite his superiority complex, he is oddly alright with poor living conditions, depending on the situation. He'll sometimes sleep on the floor of his office instead of going home, finding it the most logical choice, over wasting his time to return home to a nicer bed.
    • He has freckles, but started covering them up with makeup as a teen, as he disliked how they looked. Imperfect!
    • He's a bit of a germaphobe, except when it comes to corpses or blood.
    • When he doesn't have another willing subject available, he is prone to experimenting on his own body instead.
      • He is a bit of a masochist, which stems from his hatred of his "broken" body and his desire to make it suffer.
    • If spoken to while sleeping, he has a tendency to sleep talk back, but normally with entirely unrelated answers (like... randomly mentioning muffins).
    • He secretly enjoys having his hair stroked. He will often nonchalantly stroke it himself when worried or in thought.
    • Hates the sun (burns easily). Also hates the cold (low body fat). Whoops.
    • He's a lover of Classical music and is incredibly skilled with the piano. He's far more open about his emotions through music than he'd ever let on elsewhere (outside of anger).
    • Due to repurposing an old 'weeb' account into Zane's RP account, 'Crackland' Zane is a huge Love Live fan. He may have a soft spot for rhythm games in canon too.
    • In his initial canon, Zane happens upon a strange species of immortal harmless fluffballs who speak nothing but gibberish. Not initially knowing this, he writes '?' in confusion in the sand, only for them to adopt that as his holy symbol. The main reason for their existence is to make him look less threatening when he's grinning maliciously or cackling evilly.

Philosophy

"I think quite highly of myself, but not in terms of 'goodness' or 'badness.' Those terms matter not to me. I am a pragmatist; I do what is most logically sound, regardless of the sacrifices one must make to get there. Quite honestly, I wish more were like me, though pious saints do have their place; they make my own job much easier."

Is Evil Really that Bad?

He does not consider himself 'evil,' or at least doesn't consider his type of 'evil' a bad thing. He may be out for himself most of the time, but he also tries to work towards what he believes is the greater good—he simply doesn't care about how many casualties are necessary to get there. 'The Greater Good' to him is the advancement of science and technology, not social issues like poverty and world peace. He may even find world peace to be a bad thing, as lack of conflict may lead to scientific stagnation.

Survival of the Fittest

The strong deserve to survive and the weak are disposable tools. Zane himself requires help constantly, but he rationalizes that he is merely utilizing the weak to his advantage, as any strong person should.

Fair Trade

While he may cheat a 'lesser' being, Zane prefers making deals with people he respects, trading his own talents for theirs. These deals tend to be fair, at least in his eyes, but the moment he believes his services are of greater value than what he is receiving, he will stop exerting effort.

Given how full of himself he is, his 'fair trades' may not feel fair to the other party. To him, sitting around and ordering a brute to do all the manual labor is a fair trade, as Zane's superior intellect is potentially even more important to completing the task than the brute's ability to carry out his orders.

Logic over Emotion

Emotions are the antithesis to logic and perfection, and as such, Zane hopes to one day purge them from his body. Until that happens, he'll blame any faults or hypocrisies he has on 'the curse of being human'. When suffering from any emotions he does not like, he breaks it down from a biological standpoint to detach himself from it; he was not 'emotional;' he was merely suffering from a chemical imbalance. In most stories, he starts out very in control of his emotions, but tends to regress from there, becoming increasingly emotionally unhinged. He does not like this.

History

Generalized History

No matter the setting, Zane is born sickly and weak, with a below-average life expectancy. He's obsessed with using what time he does have to the fullest, wishing to gain as much power and prestige as he can. He hates whatever location he's from, considering them "hicks," and puts on a fake "high class" accent to distance himself from his place of birth. He always has an interest in biology and medicine, in hopes of better understanding and controlling his condition, while also having a morbid fascination with death, given he feels so close to it. He tends to become a doctor and/or mortician in most canons.

Earth Canon

Zane is born with Hypermobility, and initially becomes a surgeon, but has to quit in his early 30s, due to his body deteriorating (his hands are too shaky for such a precise task). Always feeling a morbid connection with death (given he'll likely die young), he becomes a mortician instead. The pessimistic man feels at home with dead bodies, but there's a hidden sadness to it as well. He desperately doesn't want to die, but feels the pull. In Geist, he does die, to Covid-19 of all things, but is brought back as a Sin-Eater by The Traitor (September). He is elated with his new powers and inability to truly "die" for the time being, but his connection to death grows even stronger and more "at home" while he's like this.

Space Canon (Inanis)

The small desert planet of Inanis was named for its pointlessness, but a group of freedom-loving individuals decided to branch off from a much larger planet and establish their own government there, sure they could create a new utopia. They failed, requiring lots of pricey shipments from nearby planets just to survive, with minimal natural resources of value to send back. Too prideful to admit defeat, propaganda for Inanis runs rampant in the small colony, especially in schools. Zane was born a third-generation Inanian, questioning their propaganda at an early age, given their reliance on other planets for supplies. He's desperate to make it off planet, and when he does, he tries his best to hide his Inanian origins, never wanting to look back. In this canon, his anorexia is extra bad, due to growing up on a low-gravity planet. He has his usual stressors, plus he genuinely feels a lot heavier post-Inanis. He's also more physically weak and sickly, due to his upbringing in low gravity.

Zane is born in a militaristic nation, but his sickliness makes him a second-class citizen. Desiring to prove himself, he turns his attention to studying science, magic, and social manipulation. Knowing seizing the throne would be the ultimate display of overcoming his disability, he befriends his impressionable younger cousin, the princess, in hopes she will one day cede the throne to him.

Fantasy Canon

In his early 20s, his plans are found out and the king banishes him, years of dedication blowing up in his face. Not able to cope with his nobility being stripped away, he begins to overcompensate by dressing more fancily and altering his speech to sound more pompous. While he starts off relatively in control of himself, as he struggles to regain any of the power he once had, he starts to descend further into madness. Given his weight is the one thing he knows he can control, he becomes increasingly obsessed with his food intake. He may have moments of introspection when he realizes he is losing his mind, but this realization only makes him more stressed and hopeless: his mind is all he has left; if he loses that, he has nothing!

ANOREXIA

"If you are referring to my weakened heart and lack of energy, that is because I do not eat as well as humans are meant to. Consider it a curse which has been placed upon me, in which either my mind or my body is meant to suffer. I am allowed to choose which, and I have chosen my body, as I value my mind far more."

While Zane has always cared about his weight, he becomes obsessive about it during his teen years, to the point he's consistently starving himself. Being able to go without food gives him a sense of superiority over others, as he feels this means he has far more self-control. Very little can make this man cry, but weight issues are a very sore spot for him.

  • He tends to eat one meal a day, out of obligation. He eats alone, in his room. Some days, he doesn't feel up to eating at all.
  • The more stressed he is, the less likely he is to eat.
  • He is aware that his lack of food intake is detrimental to his health, but he believes this to be a zero-sum game: fixing his body would absolutely ruin his mind, as eating food causes extreme anxiety. Since his mind is all he has left, he far prefers continuing to starve himself over causing his mind incredible distress.
    • Without constant support from someone (don't leave this man alone), he would be a wreck while trying to recover. Paranoia, restlessness, hopelessness, depression, suicidal thoughts, the constant urge to throw up... His attempt to escape his anorexia may just make him even more anorexic.
  • In order to trigger an actual desire to recover, he'd have to have a really big health scare, like a heart attack.
    • While trying to recover, he is more likely to wear a corset in order to at least pretend his waist is just as slim (or slimmer) than it was before.
    • He is also likely to grow his hair out longer and wear it down in order to better hide his figure from the back.
    • He is very self-conscious about his waist in general to the point he may exhibit PTSD-like symptoms if someone were to touch it during/after his recovery. He absolutely hates his waist size and tries to ignore it as best as he can, but touching it reminds him of how 'fat' he now is.

March 15, 2019: I might voiceclaim Zane as Jafar—or rather "toneclaim." The calm superiority with occasional angry snaps is very him. Non-canon thing with very canon-adjacent interactions.

Victoria

He "likes" her, but mostly as a gullible tool. She helps him out, since she's a nice person, but does think he's "evil," and she tries her best to change him for the better. It doesn't work, of course. Despite this—and what he'd claim himself—she's not disposable to him. He has some (non-romantic) feelings for her.

Zane

A useful pawn, if nothing more. Our familial ties make her far more susceptible to my influence compared to most. I appreciate it.

You call me 'mean' and 'evil,' incapable of understanding the greater truths of the world: that truth itself is malleable. I am doing plenty of 'good;' it is simply not the 'good' simpletons like you appreciate.

Wherefore must you label my laughs as 'maniacal?' Am I not given the privilege of experiencing the Pseudobulbar affect without criticism?

Nay, I do not wish for a 'sandwich.' I can regulate my body without your inclusion.

Victoria

Zaaaane, stop being mean! You're so smart; it's sad to see you waste it on being a jerk to everyone. I bet you could change the world for the better if you wanted to.

Do you have to laugh maniacally when others are suffering? I feel bad...

Do you want a sandwich? You really should eat more, Zane.

I just don't want to see you in the hospital. I do care about you a lot—even if you are an evil jerk.

Gatlin

The prudish Zane dislikes Gatlin at base, and utterly despises him once Gat realizes this and starts messing with him. Gat finds Zane insufferable and loves it, because that makes him the perfect "target" for his antics, without having much pushback from others. Unlike most of his targets, he prefers messing with Zane in more subtle ways, like doing the opposite of what Zane asks him to do, or telling a neighbor "That Lune guy would love it if you do this," knowing full well it'll irritate him. He's very much a troll, and enjoys making Zane seethe without having to even say anything to his face. He'll often feign ignorance when confronted, knowing that upsets Zane too.

If Zane finds a way to hit Gat where it hurts (his casino, probably), they could have a mutual hatred. That'd be fun.

Zane

Aroint thyself, fustilarian. Your degrade mine quality of life with thy presence.

It is the twenty first century, you deplorable dalcop. I can see you did not make your money through mental acuity, but I suppose your idiocy makes you 'relatable' to the masses. 'Tis a shame that inadequacy is rewarded in our society.

Idioms do not beget truth, though yes, the Pseudobulbar affect does release healthy endorphins into the body. Regrettably, you simply are not funny. Poor you.

Eugh, if only extorting you were not a crime...

It is not, because you are breaking our rules!

Gatlin

Heh, you're so funny with that fancy speak. We live in the 20th century, you know.

Heh, that's rich. Me, that is, not what you said. Hehehaha. You should really learn to live a little, ya' know? You're a doctor, right? Isn't 'laughter the best medicine?' Come on, even kids know that~.

Well, you're hilarious! Thanks for the laughs, Doctor Lune. So what's the medical bill gonna' come out to?

Haha, but taking thousands from me in HOA fines isn't extortion~? 😉

Absit

Zane looks down on Absit for being weak and pathetic, and Absit fears Zane and his coldness. The two tend to stay out of each other's business, though Zane might be one to mock or "use" Absit, if he wants something, knowing he won't put up a fight.

He also might potentially help Absit, not for his sake, but because Zane hates Gatlin and knows Absit doesn't like him either. So even if Absit won't help him, Zane might utilize Absit as an excuse as to why something he does to Gatlin is justified..

Iðunn

Idunn is far too chaotic for Zane's liking, and while he can often manipulate her into committing acts he would never wish to dirty himself with, she's unreliable, so he doesn't proposition her particularly often. When he does, it tends to be to attempt to hurt Gatlin, of course.

Idunn finds Zane "funny," and loves when he enables her destructive side, but other times, she doesn't like him, for being a stick in the mud (when she's causing him problems).

Deems

Zane finds Deems to be an insufferable loudmouth, but a potentially useful one, due to his gullibility and easiness to please through basic compliments. Zane likely sarcastically mocks him for fun, only for it to fly over Deems' head, and be proud of the "compliment."

Zane could probably manipulate him into hurting Gatlin if need be, which means Deems isn't entirely useless. Zane apprecaites a useful idiot.

On Deems' part, he doesn't really "like" Zane, per se, but given the aforementioned "compliments," he doens't dislike him either. He just finds him weird.

Liv

Liv loves messing with Zane, because he gives very strong, overblown reactions. Zane, in turn, despises her, both for her annoyingness and for being a perverted woman.

Thankfully for Zane, they don't interact too frequently.

She calls him gay a lot, before he's out of the closet. It makes him very mad. Just because he cares about his appearance does not mean he is a homosexual, damn it!

Basic Info

  • Biromantic Homosexual (Borderline Asexual)
  • 2.8" flaccid, 4.5" erect. Uncircumcised.
  • Inexperienced
  • Position: Switch (Sub lean)

He does not enjoy the act of sex itself, though he can like things surrounding it, like touching and romanticism. He hates sticking his dick into anything, so he prefers a woman with a strap-on or another man. He prefers receiving over giving (because it's more passive), unless he feels inferior to his partner; then he feels he should give more, to be worthy of them.

Trivia

  • Given his own weak constitution, he loves healthy, muscular partners, as they make him feel safe. In general, he prefers partners that make him feel protected.
  • He's prone to giddily 'feeling up' his partner's muscles, as he explains their names and how they work, given his role as an anatomist.
  • He's more of an open book when sexually involved, and tends to ramble about all sorts of topics in bed.
  • He'll feel empty if there's no post-sex cuddling, but he will not admit to this, as he finds it weak.
  • Zane's fine with not 'finishing,' but if the opposite happens, he'll feel intense guilt. He really cares about 'fair trades,' and would feel horrible if they can't 'finish' too.
  • For someone who hates sexual content, he tends to interpret things as sexual far more often than most. This is because he doesn't trust those 'sexual' beings to keep it clean, thus overevaluates even innocent phrases to make sure he doesn't 'fall' for a sex joke and look like a fool. This can make him seem to have the most dirty mind out of everyone.
  • Zane prefers the term 'phallus' over 'penis,' as he finds it less vulgar of a term.
  • He would prefer not having a penis—though in reality he just doesn't want genitals in general. He hates being human.
  • Zane is disgusted by the sheer concept of having to orgasm, but in order to keep his body cooperating, he masturbates once per month on a pre-assigned day. He will occasionally refer to this as 'that time of the month,' which confuses people. He dedicates his entire day to this process, as he needs plenty of time to mentally prepare—and then mentally wind down.
  • He dislikes describing sexual acts and tends to use euphemisms; this is in contrast to his normally overly blunt way of speaking.
  • When disrobing for the sake of medical tests or proving he's unarmed, he will strip without hesitation, but disrobing for a partner suddenly makes him quite shy.
  • Similarly, Zane does not feel shame over his body until he has a partner. Afterwards, he regrets not having the 'perfect' body for them.
  • Given he's not excited for the act in general, he's pretty up for trying new things with his partner, at least once.
  • Polyamory: Zane believes that everyone should be out for themselves, thus, if he cannot satisfy his partner, having a second is simply logical. He'll claim he's fine with this, but in reality, it would sadden him. He's unlikely to take a second partner himself, given he wouldn't have a partner at all unless their bond was already incredibly strong. He is very loyal.
  • Zane may be fine with recording their sessions, but not for the sake of hotness; he'll use it to figure out what he and his partner did wrong and take notes.
  • With Partner he Considers Himself Superior To: He is petty and may end a sexual activity at any moment if he feels his partner has wronged him in some way. It can be for something as simple as disagreeing with him on some minor, unrelated point.

Preferences

Giving

  • Handjobs/Fingering: He likes learning how his partner 'ticks.' He's very methodical, and in time, he'd be quite good at it.
  • Orgasm Denial: He enjoys making his partner squirm.
  • Master/Slave (Master): Likely not particularly sexual. More about hurting/degradation, to feel above the other.
  • Master/Slave (Slave): Only with partners he feels inferior to. Not healthy, given he only wishes to be a 'slave' because he feels he's unworthy of their love.
  • Masturbation Instructions: He can like the 'puzzle' aspect. He's strict.
  • Sadism: Sometimes, this man needs a power trip to boost his confidence.

Receiving

  • Biting/Roughness: He enjoys it from time to time, especially if there's teasing involved.
  • Choking: He enjoys it for the near-death experience and the 'trust' aspect, not the arousal.
  • Cock and Ball Torture: Mainly for the memes, but he does hate his phallus...

Turn Ons

  • Touching his Waist: Zane takes pride in his skinniness and loves his partner running their hands down his sides or making comments about it.
  • Muscles: He loves watching them. He loves touching them.
  • Romanticism: Helps him mentally prepare. This includes things like kisses, nuzzles, hand holding, compliments, and treating him like their 'prince.'

Turn Offs

  • Touching his Waist (post-recovery): If Zane recovers from anorexia, his waist would be the body part he hates most, and purposefully stroking it would remind him of how 'fat' he's gotten. He may even relapse.
  • Verbal Degradation: While teasing is fine, insults upset him. The exception would be when he's in a depressive state; then he'd accept the degradation and allow the act to continue. He may even degrade himself if he's feeling particularly self-hating.
