"✨🕺✨ Ten million dollars for the Gat Machine, baby~. ✨🕺✨"

Basic Info

A driven, yet rather carefree goofball whose job as a proprietor of a casino is his passion in life. He's all about showmanship, flashy displays, and being the life of the party. He's addicted to being social, never wanting to be alone.

  • Despite enjoying gambling, he's actually slightly above average at best—and below average at worst—because he enjoys the thrill of chance more than skill.
  • He loves being an oaf. Incomptetence is fun.
  • He's super animated and exciteable when interacting with others, but tends to be lazy and lethargic when alone. I joke that he "hibernates" when people aren't around, to conserve his energy.
  • He has a lot of vices, but he isn't addicted to any of them. He's addicted to being social, instead, and that's how he does them. He's a social drinker, a social smoker, and a social eater, and he does them all too much, always preferring to mirror others to really feel that connection to them.
  • He hopes to one day grow his casino into the best in the country—if not the world.
  • He brags about being rich—and he is—but most of his richness in net worth, not liquid assets. He pays himself a healthy salary, but nothing outlandish, and puts most of his money back into his casino.

Trivia

  • His name is based off of locations I visited during my 2022 vacation: Gatlinburg, TN & Clingmans Dome, NC. Retroactively, I made his middle name 'Laurel,' after the Laurel Falls, which we also visited.
    • He lives a pretty modest lifestyle in an upper-middle class apartment, with a singular nice car. He rarely goes on vacations, and doesn't tend to frequent high end restaurants unless it's to be shared with someone else (which is, admitedly, quite often). He will overspend for the sake of a joke, or for his casino, but otherwise, he lives pretty middle class.
  • He has an extra apartment on the top floor of his casino which he uses when he doesn't feel like going home.
    • Vampire: Within is a golden coffin, all nice and padded. While he doesn't show it off to any old person given it's in his living quarters, it's purposefully very eye-catching, as to play up the fact that it is just a quirky thing, and not actual evidence he's some scary vampire. What kind of vampire would sleep in a flashy, golden coffin, huh? He normally sleeps in his apartment. The coffin is a backup if he ever requires extra security.
  • He drives a red Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan (electric car).
  • I keep making him fatter. :(
    • 156 lbs (initial design, 2022)
    • 186 lbs (May, 2023)
    • 203 lbs (October 2023)
    • 221 lbs (December, 2023)
    • 222 lbs (May, 2024)
    • 282 lbs (August 2024). NO MORE.
  • Vampire: Potentially, the biggest thing keeping him grounded to humanity in this world (his casino and his drive to make it number one) might also lead to his loss in humanity, in order to protect it.

Philosophy

"Hey, don't hate on stupid people. Some of the smartest people I know are stupid."

Stupidity is Smart

Being the jester is the best way to disarm people. When people underestimate you, it's far easier to then blindside them and come out on top.

The Customer is Always Right—except when it's funnier if they're wrong~. 😉

He's all about hospitality and compromise, man.

History

Earth:

Vampire (Berlin)

Born in Turin to an Italian mother and Austrian father, Gatlin grew up knowing two languages, but with an Italian focus, which became a problem once his family moved to Germany when he was 11. The once talkative boy became quiet when his thick Italian accent was constantly pointed out by classmates, making for a dull, uneventful chilhood, all the way up until late university.

Giving up on any dreams, Gatlin chooses to wait tables in an Italian restaurant, and one day catches the interest of a fellow Italian (Marius), who invites him to his weekly Poker Club. In time, the club gets him to open up and embrace his accent, becoming the quirky, loud, fun man he is today. With newfound confidence and Marius' support, he's spurred to follow his formerly thrown out dream of owning a glitzy casino, but he starts small, buying an old casino and breathing new life into it, to make some money and figure out if his goal was even possible.

The Berlino, as it was later called, ends up being a success, leading to Gatlin taking out a larger loan to build his dream resort casino: Casa del Sino.

At the age of 36, he's sweeping the sidewalk around the casino and happens to hear sounds of a scuffle going down in a dark corner around the casino. With his trusty broom, he heads over there to shoo them off, only to be thrown against a wall and drained of his blood. Vampirism follows, of course.

From then on, he struggles immensely with his humanity, desperately trying to interact with humans and act human, in order to perceive himself as human, but it becomes harder and harder as time goes on, incapable of living his "human" life to the fullest, now that the daytime—and especially the sun—hinder him.

...It doesn't help that he's accidentally killed two people, and forced himself to Sire the latter, after he accidentally drank him dry.

America

Overall the same, but his family moves to Tennessee instead, and his first casino is named the "Tennessino" instead of the "Berlino."

Monochrome Mafia Canon (Morris Timeline)

Non-Earth Timeline in Morris'() world. It's a dismal monochrome world where everyone suffers. Gatlin started out as a street thug with big dreams, and he catches a break when he successfully kidnaps the daughter of wealthy barons...and she actually prefers it, hating her rich life. She can tell how incompetent he is, and decides to help him randsome her own parents, and the loser Gatlin ends up looking up to his captive, her becoming basically a mentor to him. Yes, it's weird. They are weird.

He eventually becomes a successful crimeboss, running a casino publicly, while committing crimes privately, becoming quite rich off of both. He starts taking an interest in Tieflings, most notably for their tails, and collects Tieflings who have tails reminiscent of the four card suits. Morris is one of these Tieflings, though their initial meeting was very hostile.

Unknowing of Gatlin's power, Morris kidnaps his daugther and hopes to hold her for randsome in a Robinhood-esque manner of stealing from the rich to give to the poor. This backfires heavily, as Gatlin and his thugs retaliate with violence, no negotiations, Morris' eye and horn injured in the process. Gatlin initially wants to kill him, but noticing his spade-like tail, and with Morris' scheme reminding him of his own past, he instead decides to "hire" him, though while he's paid, Morris doesn't have much of a choice: it's that or be killed, as initially planned.

Morris works diligently for now, but he's waiting for his opportunity to get his revenge. Meanwhlie, Gatlin takes an interest in him, due to thieir similar upbringings, treating him almost like a son, but one who gets tough love instead of actual affection. He hopes to train him into something great.

Casa del Sino
"Have you met Casadee yet? She's my darling wife... and my beautiful daughter~."

Casa del Sino is a six storey resort casino: the first five floors are for gambling and ameneties, while the sixth is for staff, conference rooms, and an extra apartment. Attached to the casino is a 15 storey hotel, which includes a spa on the 9th floor, and some extra dining on the ground floor.

Salaries:

  • Gatlin: ~$150,000/year
    • He pays himself a respectible salary, but nothing outlandish. He cares more about investing into the casino than filling his pockets.
  • Head Manager: $150,000/year
    • 2 total: One for the casino, one for the hotel.
  • Head Security: $130,000/year
  • Pit Bosses (Floor Managers): $120,000/year
    • 5 total: One per floor, plus an extra, normally on Floor 2 or 3.
  • Security: $60,000-$90,000/year
    • 10+
  • Secretary: $70,000/year
  • Hourly Wages: $20-35/hour ($40,000-$72,000/year)
    • 1000+
    • Receptionists, restaurant staff, janitors, bartenders, etc.

Family

Diethard Klingmann & Letizia Paoli ("Bad Parents")

Gatlin

Gatlin holds a major, mostly unwarranted grudge against his parents. He considers them terrible parents who ruined his dream of becoming a magician, by not helping him better transition to the new culture after they moved countries (Germany or America, depending on the canon). This resentment grows when he gets his groove back and becomes successful, only for them (especially Diethard) to give him pushback.

In reality, they’re just average parents concerned that their son has let his “stardom” get to his head, and he’s at risk of burning up if he doesn’t slow down. They’re not wrong, given his overindulging in food and alcohol and the amount of scandals he’s already gotten into. They worry for both his physical and mental health, but Gatlin will have none of it, telling them off whenever they bring it up.

His treatment of them is far different than how he acts with anyone else, being much more immature and spiteful, often doing things they tell him not to do, just to rebel, like an unruly teen. He's very childish with them. He'd never want that part of him being known to the public.

Feelings
Feelings

Both of Gatlin's parents aren't as bad as he makes them out to be, genuinely worrying about the "new" him. With how often Gatlin criticizes them publicly, he's lucky they care enough about him to not go public about how spiteful he is. It'd ruin his "carefree clown" persona he cares so much about.

Diethard

Diethard is not the best with his words, his attempts at nudging Gatlin a specific way not being too subtle, but he means well.

Letizia

Letizia dotes on Gatlin, but Diethard's views take precedent, leading her to usually siding with Diethard, much to Gatlin's chagrin. She does often send him gifts, which he tends to throw out or give to someone else.

Employees

Nina Kneller (Employee, Best Friend, & Crush)

Gatlin

He adores how she was honest with him from the start instead of sucking up to him because he was her rich boss. They banter constantly, Gatlin normally being the butt of the jokes, and he loves it, outside of a few jokes that hit a bit too close to home (especially about his weight). He crushes on her, even after he gets married, and she technically crushes back, but knows they’d never work out, due to her being asexual and him… not being that at all. He still thinks they could work out. (They wouldn’t.)

Feelings
Feelings

Nina

Gatlin’s favorite employee and potentially the only woman he loves romantically. Her insults sometimes do genuinely sting him, but she’s a very needed level-head for the eccentric weirdo, one of the few people who can reign him in. Nina's the straight man to his clown, and they both enjoy their roles to the fullest. While she does genuinely love him (platonically), she will also gladly make him pay for things, knowing she can get away with it, because him tossing money around willy-nilly is all part of another big "joke" to him.

Nina does technically crush on Gatlin romantically, but she knows they'd never work out, thus rejects him at every turn. On the bright side, his constant flirting met with rejection tends to be part of their jokey straight man/funny man relationships, so it tends to not hurt Gatlin all that much. When it's part of the joke, he revels in the rejection, if anything.

Images

Ignace Aubert (Secretary)

Gatlin

Gatlin isn't super close to Ignace, but enjoys the chats they happen to have. He's not nearly as big into drama and "tea" as Igance is, but he'll try to remember anything he hears, just for Ignace's sake, sometimes using drama knowledge as bribery to get him to do stuff.

Feelings
Feelings

Ignace

Ignace finds Gatlin to be one of the better employers he's had, given Gat's very lax and talkative: two things Ignace really likes. He talkes drama with him often.

Images

Liam Van Mai

Gatlin

Gatlin loves him, but more as a target to tease than a person. He does trust him a lot, and thinks he does good work.

Feelings
Feelings

Liam

Liam is a goody two shoes, which doesn't fit well with Gatlin's more chaotic personality, though Liam does trust that Gatlin meanas well and simply doesn't care as much about rules. He'd rather not work for Gatlin, but his own morality against lying has made him feel obligated to work for him, and Gatlin just lets him, despite knowing this. Gatlin finds it funny.

Images

Mark Martingale

Gatlin

Out of all my named employees, Gatlin interacts with Mark the least, as he's too chill to be fun to mess with. He does like him, and sometimes rambles to him when upset. Knowing he's friends with Nina, he'll often talk about her with him, including his feelings and wish that they could date.

Feelings
Feelings

Mark

Mark is very chill, and working at the casino is just a job to him. He doesn't have much of an opinion on Gatlin one way or another except that he thinks he pays well and is quite generous at Christmas.

Images

Morris D. Holmes: Earth (Freelance Mechanic)

Gatlin

Gatlin doesn't know Morris particularly well, but he likes almost everyone by default, thus likes Morris. He talks to him on the job pretty often, which Morris would prefer didn't happen.

Feelings
Feelings

Morris

In Gatlin's main canon, Morris is NOT a Tiefling, and he's a contracted mechanic Gat occasionally hires. They don't interact much, but they get along well enough, with Morris holding some ill will towards him, simply because he's a rich idiot who wastes money as a "joke." Morris might take advantage of him on occasion, by casually mentioning some sob story (pretty emotionless about it all the while), but it's nothing too extreme.

General

Absit Oman (Bullying Target & "Project")

Gatlin

Gat "likes" Absit, but also can't stand how passive and soft-spoken he is. He wants to "fix" him. Gatlin constantly invites himself into Absit's home, causing the man quite a lot of distress.

Despite them not liking each other, Gat interacts with his neighbor very often, determined to "fix" him, by forcing him out of his shell—just like Marius did to him, years ago. He figures it if worked on him, then it should be the same for anyone else, and they'll thank him later. Gatlin claims, even to himself, that his "bullying" is for Absit's own good, but deep down, he does take sadistic glee from it. But nooo, everything he does is for Absit's sake. He's a Good Samaritan! It's not malicious!

Gat will also often hire Absit for freelance fashion work, when he wants a new outfit, or to alter an existing piece.

Feelings
Feelings

Absit

Absit is soft-spoken and shy, while Gatlin is the opposite, and very forceful about it, rarely leaving Absit alone when he sees him. This makes Absit dread every frequent encounter they have.

Despite not liking him, Absit does put up with him, because he's very bad at saying 'no' to things.

Images

Iðunn O'Mann (Fun but Frightening Weirdo)

Gatlin

Gat and her get along a lot better than him and Absit, because she's very carefree and gullible, often excitedly going along with any crazy plans Gatlin has, even if it's against her uncle. That said, Idunn can sometimes even be too much for him, given she has a lot less concerns with actual criminal acts: namely, physical attacks, property damage, and stealing. He likes her at base, but if she starts going too far, he can quickly become uncomfortable. It's a gamble.

He tries to get into her pants (because he tries to get into most people's pants), but Absit thankfully does put his foot down with that, knowing Idunn can't really consent.

Feelings
Feelings

Idunn

Idunn loves Gatlin, because he's a big enabler, especially when it comes to messing with her uncle, Absit . He's one of her favorite people for that reason, along with him just being funny.

Images

Zane Lune (Stick in the Mud Neighbor)

Gatlin

Unlike most of his targets, he prefers messing with Zane in more subtle ways, like doing the opposite of what Zane asks him to do, or telling a neighbor "That Lune guy would love it if you do this," knowing full well it'll irritate him. He's very much a troll, and enjoys making Zane seethe without having to even say anything to his face. He'll often feign ignorance when confronted, knowing that upsets Zane too.

Heh, you're so funny with that fancy speak. We live in the 20th century, you know.

Heh, that's rich. Me, that is, not what you said. Hehehaha. You should really learn to live a little, ya' know? You're a doctor, right? Isn't 'laughter the best medicine?' Come on, even kids know that~.

Well, you're hilarious! Thanks for the laughs, Doctor Lune. So what's the medical bill gonna' come out to?

Feelings
Feelings

Zane

The prudish Zane dislikes Gatlin at base, and utterly despises him once Gat realizes this and starts messing with him. Gat finds Zane insufferable and loves it, because that makes him the perfect "target" for his antics, without having much pushback from others. If Zane finds a way to hit Gat where it hurts (his casino, probably), they could have a mutual hatred. That'd be fun.

Aroint thyself, fustilarian. Your degrade mine quality of life with thy presence.

It is the twenty first century, you deplorable dalcop. I can see you did not make your money through mental acuity, but I suppose your idiocy makes you 'relatable' to the masses. 'Tis a shame that inadequacy is rewarded in our society.

Idioms do not beget truth, though yes, the Pseudobulbar affect does release healthy endorphins into the body. Regrettably, you simply are not funny. Poor you.

Images (open the big one in New Tab)

Deems Mendel (Fun to Tease Neighbor)

Gatlin

Gatlin likes Deems... as an easy bullying target, because the judge is both gullible and overreactive: a wonderful combination.

Once Deems loses his judge position, the two end up running into each other at a theater tryout, but Deems leaves when he notices Gat's involved. Realizing they have a shared hobby, Gat tries to genuinely befriend him, and they become actual friends, though Deems continues to play tsundere, claiming it's only because he pays for everything. Gat still bullies him, but is softer than before.

Feelings
Feelings

Deems

Deems initially hates Gatlin, and I'm thinking at some point, he screams "I better not see you in court!" and Gatlin figures it's some dumb threat, only later learning he's a judge, when he goes to court for a defamation case.

When Gatlin later tries to befriend him, Deems initially only bites because of Gatlin's money, but in time, they become actual friends, though Deems continues to play tsundere, claiming it's only because he pays for everything.

Images

Liv Rotschild (Friend with Benefits)

Gatlin

Liv brings out the worst in Gat; when they're together, he tends to match her levels of immaturity, leading to a lot of accidental bullying and harassment of others. They mean no harm, but do rationalize people "need thicker skin" when they get complaints.

They have zero romantic interest in each other, but Gatlin has sexual attracttion, and Liv did too, until he got fat. She still enjoys sex with him, but more as yet another joke. She makes fun of his weight a lot (in and out of bed). It makes him uncomfortable, but he grins and bears it, not wanting to be a hypocrite. He wishes the attraction was mutual again...

Feelings
Feelings

Liv

Liv loves Gat, because he rarely pushes back against her antics and will often join in instead. He's the ultimate immature drinking buddy.

Liv was sexually attracted to Gatlin until he got fat. Now she just finds him funny. She teases him about it all the time, which makes hi m uncomforatble.

Images

Marius Acerbi (Best Friend and Idol)

Gatlin

Gatlin idolizes him to an unhealthy degree, and has adopted some of Marius’ traits: namely the never-ending confidence and trying his best to let nothing phase him. The problem stems from the fact that, unlike Marius, Gatlin does have bouts of uncertainty, which makes him feel inadequate. Little does Gatlin know that Mairus has ASPD, which makes the whole “I don’t care about others’ feelings” a lot easier.

Feelings
Feelings

Marius

Marius himself “loves” Gatlin, but only superficially. He thinks of every person as a complex puzzle, and his main joy in life comes from cracking these puzzles, bettering their lives through his manipulation. His intentions may be selfish, but the end result of his work is selfless. Gatlin was one of his two big projects, the other being his own husband. He would care very much if Gatlin were to die, but there’d be no empathy behind that disappointment; it’d be like his favorite show getting canceled.

Images

Alternate Universe: Morris' Canon: Crimeboss Gat

Morris: Monochrome (Useful "Employee")

Gatlin

Gat "likes" Morris, just as a (for now) diligent employee. He's one of his more skilled employees, already used to sneaking around and breaking into things.

Feelings
Feelings

Morris

In Morris' Tiefling Monochrome canon, Gat's a much more heartless crimeboss (still with a jokey side, but it's SCARIER), and there, Morris is an employee and actively despises Gat. Gat is responsible for his missing horn and damaged eye. Morris doesn't show his anger, but waits for the day he can one day torture the man in revenge. But until then, he'll quietly buy his time, and be an overall diligent employee.

"Ding ding! Your ride has reached the fifth floor!" [Talking about his erection.]

Roleplay Teasing Humiliation Disobedience Biting Blood

Basic Info

  • "Straight" (Biromantic Bisexual, but doesn't understand it. Female lean.)
  • 3.3" flaccid, 5.3" erect (technically 4.3/6.3", like a true Italian, but his fat ate some of it). Uncircumcized.
  • Experienced
  • Position: Switch (Big Dom lean)

While he'd prefer having an emotional connection to the person he's doing it with, Gatlin doesn't want that to come out in the bedroom; the sex itself should be casual, not 'deep,' because 'deep' isn't fun. Vanilla sex is hardly worth his time; he prefers switching it up, no matter how stupid the scenario is.

Trivia

  • He might act 'loose,' but given he prefers at least slightly knowing the person first, he's not someone who's had hundreds of hook ups. He has had plenty of flings, though, a fan of the concept of 'friends with benefits.'
  • He is proudly masculine and dominant. He will only be 'feminine' as a joke, though he is titilated by Femdom and will happily be a sub to a strong woman—at least every once and a while.
  • As much as he likes his sex with constantly-changing plotlines, he does daydream of getting casual sexual favors while working/watching TV/etc..
  • He's more selfish in the bedroom compared to his normal life, not caring as much about his partner getting off as him having fun. He figures the 'fun' should be mutual, so for what reason do they have to complain? They knew what they were getting into.
  • The sunglasses stay on (sometimes).
  • HE'S A SHOWER, BABY. ✨
  • He is probably my most sexually liberated character. He is free. Confident. Happy.
  • He 'likes' a lot of weird and/or bad kinks, but it's for the dumb plotlines, not for any actual badness. Kidnapping? R-wording? All done in jokey, non-serious ways.
  • He loves being in power, with occasional bouts of wanting to be powerless. The worst he can be is just 'kind of average.' All or nothing, baby.
  • He brags that he "got [his] dick from [his] mom," because he's closer to to the Italian average.

Preferences

Giving

  • Facefucking: He pretends he's a construction worker jackhammering the pavement. Or something.
  • Creampie: Bakery owner Gatlin, with a very important foreign dignitary coming in to buy a pastry from his shop, and if he doesn't succeed, his country will be at war with them. Sadly, he overfills the pastry, disappointing the dignitary, causing the war to start. His partner must do some other plot-related sex act to save the world from Gatlin's blunder.
  • Ropes/Tied Up: They are at his WILL! The plotline is HIS! He has more control over the narrative! Bwa ha ha ha! Partner, beware, not because of lack of consent, but because of how stupid the plot will become.

Receiving

  • Handjobs: Quick and easy and he can either do something else while it happens, or he can talk about his dick with weird metaphors as it happens. Both are nice.
  • Rough Sex: It's one of the few things he enjoys that doesn't require roleplay, though he still wants banter, at least.
  • Forced Orgasms: He finds it hot and a fun game.
  • Orgasm Denial: Same as above.
  • Pain: He's a bit of a masochist—only in the bedroom. He finds it exciting.
  • Ropes/Tied Up: Excitement, and it has the possibility of storylines.

Turn Ons

  • Banter: Talk to him. Flirt with him. Tease him. Follow along with his stupid sex plots. If it doesn't turn him on, it still almost guarantees a 'yes' to sex.
  • Dirty Touching: He's not a baby like my other characters. You have to be forward with your advances.

Turn Offs

  • Fire: He can't anymore. :(
  • Emotional Declarations: If it's an act, he's all for it, but if it's serious, he'd rather not touch it. If it's with a partner he truly loves, it's different, though he'd still usually prefer keeping emotions out of it.
