Basic Info

A stoic, untrusting former soldier prone to holding deep grudges. Trigger happy and paranoid, caring deeply about a select few, while entirely discarding most others. Has a strict worldview, and is very supportive of 'the ends justify the means.' She thinks the people she hurts is worth it for the greater good, when it likely isn't. Overconfident.

Regardless of canon, war has shaped her into a battle-hardened, trigger-happy assassin with major trust issues.

  • "September" isn't her real name, and she'll go by various other aliases when on missions. Others are Seven, Virgo, Forget-Me-Not, and Sapphire. Even I don't know her real name.
  • September hates chaos, yet uses it in her own tactics constantly, preferring to keep enemies on their toes. Fair battles don't matter. Winning does.
  • She hypocritically holds grudges against people for minor things, while shrugging off her worse atrocities, blaming her victims for being too trusting. She is aware of this, exusing it by simply saying she's not a good person.

Trivia

  • She prefers baggy clothing and scarves when casual, but will wear tighter clothing while hunting. Her 'fancy' outfits tend to be East Asian-inspired.
  • While her repertoire of dishes is rather small, she can make some really delicious meals: mainly things that involve vegetables and rabbit/deer meet. When it comes to bread, fish, and sweeter dishes, she's average at best, simply following recipes instead of experimenting and finding something truly special.
  • She fishes on rare occasions, but it's not something she's particularly interested in. She has to be in 'the mood.' It's something she'd potentially like more with a friend, so they can sit and talk while they fish.
  • Her favorite meats are Lamb, Rabbit, and Duck. Her least favorites are Pork, Beef, Lobster, and Crab. She is so-so on Steak.
  • She was named 'September' because I thought she was for a September Oneshot, but I later learned it was for October. By that point, the name stuck. I added 'Elle Eventh' as a joke, but people liked it, so that stuck as well. She is a very serious character, despite her name (and I often remove the rest of her name, in fears people will find it too mean-spirited. 9/11 was a genuine tragedy. Rest in peace, that security guard that went back for people and died for doing his job instead of running like a coward, as with anyone else who perished. In canon, 9/11 doesn't exist, so her name doesn't mean anything special.)

Philosophy

"Hate me all you want. I know I've done terrible things. What's important is that the world is changed."

Heroic Villainy

She considers herself a villain, but believes that in of itself is heroic, sacrificing her integrity for the "greater good." Most would think she goes too far, especially since most of the things she's fighting for aren't black and white issues, but she treats her belief as the only correct one.

(This is all literally just "the ends justify the means" under a different term, but "heroic villainy" fits her theming better, since she does consider herself a "necessary" villain. It's how she accepts the atrocities she commits.)

Goals > Hypocrisy

September is incredibly hypocritical. She hates chaos, yet uses it to her advantage. She hates traitors, yet betrays people constantly. She hates liars, yet she won't even give people her real name. She has minimal cognitive dissonance over this, cynically believing that everyone is immoral, and she's just partaking to protect herself from others.

She's very contradictory in general. She wishes for a world of tranquility, yet embraces chaos in order to try to achieve that.

Dirty Commie

September hates people living in excess. Wealth is evil, and she tends to spend any excess money she has on things she thinks will help better the world as a whole. If she could get away with it, she would gladly murder anyone she considered "abusing" their wealth, and would consider it a net positive. She cares only for those she finds living simple, charitible lives.

History

Main Canon

September used to be a soft, kind person who lived in a small cabin, but that changed when war came to her area. The nearby town she used to sell game to was bombed, and she was injured in the blast. She was forced to move into a larger city to survive, and became a soldier for a time, eventually becoming a spy. She'd athering intelligence and perform the occasional assassination, but as an expendable 'lesser' resource, she was once left behind enemy lines while they were bombed.

Canon-depending, she either survived and started rebelling against her country, or she died, and became a Geist, thus leading into the below blurb.

Earth / Geist: The Sin-Eaters

She's a human WWI soldier in this canon, and died while stuck behind enemy lines. She's now a ghost who wants revenge on her former allies, and formed a contract with Zane to help her accomplish that goal.

General

Ignace Aubert

Ignace's relationship to September varies by story, but they always have a familial relationship (either as a mother or older sister), regardless of their actual ties. She's never his actual mother, but they are half-siblings in one AU.

September

September and him don't see eye to eye about money and materialism, but she gives him more of a pass than she does to others. She'll criticize him at every turn, but she wouldn't do harm to him, at base.

Feelings
Feelings

Ignace

Ignace finds September to be really cool and appreciates their allyship, despite all the criticism she throws his way. He tends to wave her off, much to her disappointment. He's very lucky she doesn't treat him like she does most flagrant materialists.

Geist: The Sin-Eaters

Zane Lune

In this canon, September, now known as "The Traitor," is a ghost (Geist), who made a contract with Zane (reviving him), the two now being tied together. Zane is tasked with getting revenge on her old WWI platoon, gaining new life and powers through her.

"The Traitor"

The Traitor has heavily mixed opinions on her Sin-Eater, Zane. On the one hand, they both are cynics motivated by logic over emotion, who will do terrible acts for the sake of their goals. On the other hand, Zane is staunchly capitalistic and outwardly mocks those who suffer under the system, claiming they simply failed at "playing the game." The Traitor abhors this, and people with that point of view would be the exact people she'd have hoped to murder to send a message.

They get along well during most missions, but she wants to snap his neck when classism happens to be involved.

Relationship
Relationship

Zane

Zane likes The Traitor, mostly as a tool. She gives him power, and he loves power. That said, given his brutal cynicism isn't respected by most, he also appreciates having someone he can freely discuss his more macabre, pessimistic thoughts to, without causing a big fight.

He wants to be attached to her forever, both so he can live forever and for her powers. Regrettably, to keep their synergy up, he has to try to work towards her goal of finding her old platoon and getting revenge. ...So he does try, but very slowly, while he tries to figure out how he can stay alive and powerful, even without her. Surely, there must be some supernatural phenomenon that can help him...

He dislikes the name "The Traitor," finding it juvenile, thus refers to her as "Morrigan" instead, based off of the Irish goddess related to war and fate, also called "the phantom queen," which takes the form of a black crow (badb). He thinks it fits well. He's not wrong.

Alternate Universes

June and Ignatius Marquette

An AU where September (June) is a lot more bubbly and chipper, but still a terrible person, behind it all. Meanwhile, Ignace (Ignatius) is outwardly pessimistic. They are half-siblings here.

June

A friendly, yet off-putting woman who lives in a far off cabin in the woods. Has an odd amount of knowledge on nuclear physics. She adores sunflowers, and can often be seen magically planting them with her Staff of Flowers. Despite her caring demeanor, she is a pragmatist at heart. Stubborn.

Half-sibling of Ignatius. She respects him, but rarely takes his advice.

Feelings
Feelings

Ignatius

An aloof captain who loves the beach and sea. Trained in ocean warfare, but tends to work as a ferryman during peacetime. Wishes he had more vacation days (which he would like to use playing in the sand, building giant sand structures).

Half-sibling of June. Often complains about her, and tries to reign her in.

Sapphire Spica & Deimos Aldebaren
(September & Zane)

Amun's main canon. September (Sapphire) is a cold scientist developing technology for war. Zane (Deimos) is a fellow scientist and "friend." They both know Amun and end up turning him into a supersoldier. Deimos in time decides to body-hop into Amun, to "fix" his depression by simply becoming the man himself.

Sapphire Spica

Sapphire finds Deimos a "friend" only because they share similar values, which is rare to come by. She's annoyed by his smarminess, and finds his obsessive insanity clouds his better judgement. She doesn't trust him, but she'll gladly work with him, to achieve her own goals.

Feelings
Feelings

Deimos Aldebaren

Deimos looks up to Sapphire, fully admitting she's the more competent of the two of them. That said, he's competitive just like her, and hopes for the chance to one day best her. If backstabbing her gives him more knowledge or power, he'd do it in a heartbeat, and he knows the feeling is mutual.

September is so much easier to make videos for, despite Zane being my beloved. I guess this is what you get when you're an antagonist who helps move things along.
