Vandalism? Ohhh no, you can't do that! ...But if you must, at least make it a positive message, like "don't vandalize."

Basic Info

A chipper, laid back man who just wants to be free to travel the world, while bettering everything around him at the same time. He doesn't have any lofty goals; he just wants to experience as much as he can during his life.

Whenever he needs extra money, he hunkers down for a bit and creates magical items to sell, until he has enough gold to get by once more.

  • When it comes to experiments, he likes the thrill of the unknown more than how potent the results are (though potent potions do tend to be more exciting).
  • He likes making people happy, and children seem to enjoy his 'magic' the most, so he tends to prefer spending time with them over adults. He tends to not charge children for his services—or he'll at least charge the parent at a discount.
  • He tends to be very prepared, despite his laid back personality. He may look like he's an easy target, but in reality, he's always on the lookout and tends to have protections set up if he ever is ambushed.
  • Fear: Betrayal. He trusts his allies a lot because he does believe there is potential for 'good' in everyone, but he fears that he won't be able to change them, and that they may utilize the tools he gave them to commit horrible acts. He does not want to feel complicit. He tries to keep on a happy face, tricking both himself and others into thinking everything will work out and he 'knows what he's doing.'

Trivia

  • He's one of the few characters who don't have a pun/symbolism to their name. I just came up with the name randomly. His last name used to be "Natalus," but I changed itto "Natal" to fit more with Earth. His last name is subject to change.
  • He adores trains, and has funded many of them. He's also a huge fan of Thomas the Tank Engine.
  • D&D:
    • With his wings, Freedom of Movement Spells, and Cloak of the Manta Ray, he cannot be bound by land, wind, or water.
    • He's excited by the mystery and intrigue of seeing what traits kids will get from different species procreating. As such, he's had a lot of partners (including potentially some he's paid money to have a kid with). Despite all this, he is asexual. He does it for the children and nothing else.
    • He's terrible at naming things, all his kids being named after the species he procreated with (Ava the Avariel, Hugh the Human, Yuan the Yuan-Ti Pureblood, Geeno the Gnome, Elfa the Elf, etc.). If he named himself, he'd have been called 'Tief.'

Philosophy

Always follow the Golden Rule!

+1

Leave stuff better than you find it, to make the world as a whole better. Even if it's just a little bit better, that's still improvement.

History

Fantasy

Lambert was one of seven children born to Tiefling and Drow movie stars, but he did not much care for the life of glamor outside of the clothing. He went to college for Chemistry, but while he enjoyed the process of experimentation, he found it rather bland to develop potions to sell to large businesses. Confident in his abilities to get by on potion sales alone, he decides decides to leave the sedimentary life behind in his mid-thirties, and start traveling the world. He quickly finds the thrill of creating potions from wild plants far more fun than having everything at his immediate disposal. Similarly, he starts taking an interest in becoming a dad of various species, both through adoption and with different partners (with permission, of course; it's transactional, not sexual/romantic).

Earth

Not fleshed out at all. Similar premise, but he probably focuses more on mechanics over medicine (but still dabbles).

Overview

Lambert loves children, but is very uncreative, thus all his children but one (the one he wasn't allowed to name) have names closely related to the species they came from.

This stuff is copy-pasted from a D&D campaign, with few edits. It is all very subject to change, mainly just here to archive it.

Ages of Kids relative to themselves (might not actually be this age):
  • Ava: 30
  • Elfa: 28
  • Geeno: 27
  • Hugh: 26
  • Draya: 25
  • Chrys: Stillborn. Would've been 25
  • Orchid: 23
  • Yuan: 14
  • Draco: 14
  • Percy: 8

All of the below are technically half-Tiefling/Drow.

Ava the Avarial

Ava was Lambert's first child, and the one he doted on the most due to it being a new experience for him. He was very much a helicopter parent, doing everything with her, and she became a bit too attached to him due to that, gaining quite the ego. She was initially quite sweet, even after Elfa was born from another mother—given they were both half-elves—but after Lambert had Geeno, a rambunctious little half-gnome, she started closing herself off. She despises Geeno, both due to him diverting attention away from her and because he was a genuinely annoying little gremlin. After Geeno was born, she started spending most of her time in her room.

She enjoys making potions—a hobby she picked up from her dad—though hers tend to be more malicious in nature. She also enjoys doing makeup as a side hobby.

She left Fiction shortly after becoming an adult, and nobody knows where she is.

Elfa the Elf

From an early age, Elfa was mature, studious, and well-rounded, in stark contrast to her elder sister and younger brother. Her and Ava got along as siblings, but unlike Ava, she was fine with Geeno as well. She'd occasionally help Lambert with work (potion-making and inventing), but tended to not spend too long with him, knowing it might upset Ava (helping their dad was her 'thing'). Instead, she'd play with Geeno, allowing the two to work without the destructive gnome getting in the way.

After Ava left the house, Lambert fell into a bit of a depression, and it as Elfa who persuaded him into joining Eka's crew to explore the world: something he had always dreamed of. He asked for her to join him, but she decided to stay home and keep studying to become a lawyer. A few laters, she became a prosecutor, but has not been able to contact the rest of her family, outside of her mom. She hopes to find a means of communicating them again someday.

Geeno the Gnome

A happy, reckless man with way too much energy. As a child, he'd always run around the house, accidentally knocking things over with his oversized wings. He has a few injuries from this, as sometimes, he'd end up tripping, falling, and stabbing himself with his own wing talons or horns. He was the quickest child to learn how to fly—though he's never been able to do it well. He's not the brightest, but very good at building things. Toy blocks and trains were his favorite toys as a child, and he'd build his own mini cities, making sure no piece went unused.

As an adult, he became a handyman, and he loves his job. He's still a tad reckless. People often mistake him for a child, due to his gnome stature and childlike wonder.

Hugh the Human

Hugh is the least quirky of Lambert's children. Growing up, Ava and Geeno tended to stress him out, so he mainly kept to himself, or hung out with Elfa, despite the age gap. He's very passionate about jazz, due to growing up with the genre, thanks to Lambert. His favorite instrument is the saxophone, like Lambert, but he also enjoys playing the trombone and trumpet.

Hugh is a high school band teacher, and thanks to dealing with his quirky family growing up, he's pretty used to dealing with unruly teens (even if it does still stress him out). His favorite part of his job is teaching the jazz ensemble after school.

Hugh really misses Elfa, and has been trying to reconnect with her while in Metrianda, but has had no luck thus far. He's just a band teacher, after all.

Draya the Drider

Draya is a sweet, soft-spoken woman that is regrettably considered monstrous by some, due to her spider abdomen and tiefling wings. She had a few medical complications as a child, and is still a bit weak because of it. She can move her wings, but they are far too small and weak to ever let her fly.

She originally wanted to be a doctor or nurse, but due to her large body making it hard to move around small hospital rooms, she instead became a paramedic.

Dwara the Dwarf

Dwara was born from another pirate on the ship, and while she enjoyed Lambert's coddling as a toddler, once she was in her pre-teens, she preferred hanging out with her mother, a more gruff pirate woman. Lambert was especially invested in her once her beard started growing in (he loved how fluffy it was!), but regrettably, this made her push away from him even more.

After Eka's ship landed, her and her mother formed their own mini pirate crew, and sailed the Underglass until they died of old age.

Chrys the Chrysoberyl - DEAD (Stillbirth)

When Lambert heard about 'gem' people, he really wanted to have a kid with one, but regrettably, it never 'formed' into anything, and the mother seemed to have been lost in the process as well. Despite it being a mutual decision to have a child, he feels incredibly guilty for what happened, and now uses 'Chrys' as the base for his Homonculus Servant instead, giving it 'life' through magic and tinkering.

Orchid the Orc - DEAD (Old Age)

Originally named 'Orca,' she begged Lambert to change her name to 'Orchid,' after she realized her name wasn't a real one. She was very calm and motherly growing up, collecting different species dolls to take care of; Lambert helped grow this collection by making sure to pick up a new doll from each world he visited, and they often played 'family' together, with Lambert being the dolls' proud grandparent who 'visited' her house for tea and cookies.

Once she was an adult, she started visiting different worlds with Lambert, until she fell in love with one so much that she ended up settling down there, soon becoming a real mother of many kids, along with a loving husband. She opened up an orphanage, and lived a happy, peaceful life full of love and family. Rob ended up being one of her last children, though he was later summoned as a Hero of The Moon, shortly after she died.

Rob Asa

Orchid's still-living son. A no-nonsense workaholic who likes to knit in his freetime—a hobby he picked up from his mother. He's bit of a softie with children, but gruff on the job. Deals mainly in espionage, along with his partner, Jessica. He has no ties to Lambert outside of their blood, as he was born well after Lambert left Orchid's world.

The normally mature Rob has a childish hatred for Robasa, given people keep confusing his name for the city. He genuinely hates the fact that The Moon is now working with them, but he sucks it up and does what he's ordered to do. He often wears hints of yellow on his clothing—and no purple—to try to further distance himself from the city, and he is grateful for his yellow irises.

Unil the Unicorn

As a toddler, Unil had trouble with her horns, often poking people or knocking things over if her head got too close. After a few particularly bad encounters, she closed herself off, preferring to play strategy games in her room instead of playing with other kids. Once she was older and in more control of her movement, she caught the attention of many men thanks to her alluring looks, which broke her out of her shell a bit. No surprise, she ended up becoming a model, though she has held a few minor roles in movies as well.

She is the horniest of Lambert's children (pun).

Yuan the Yuan-Ti

Carol's half-Yuan-Ti son, a down to earth pushover who tends to adopt whatever other people tell him to adopt, whether that be new hobbies or literal animals. He's a really sweet guy, but not very emotive, usually looking pretty bored.

Yuan owns the Yuan-Ti shop (a tea shop), named by Lambert. Just a few years after opening, the Ti Shop became a bit of a cat cafe, thanks to Lambert continuously bringing stray cats in, begging Yuan to give them a home. If he were more forceful, he would've likely said 'no,' but instead, he kept adopting every single one, and eventually he did grow to truly adore them. He went back to school for medicine, and earned a veterinary license so he could better take care of the cats. Now the Ti Shop has lots of animals in it, though cats are still the main focus.

Draco the Dragon

Draco was considered pretty scary looking by his peers, but instead of feeling like an outcast, he embraced it and went even further by adding bright red makeup to his face and wings. Looks aside, he was a rather studious kid who rarely got into trouble (if not just because all he had to do to scare away most bullies was open up his brilliant red wings).

With a flair for the dramatic, he acted in a lot of plays in school (always an antagonist), and was extra motivated when he learned that Lambert's parents were actors as well. He ends up following in his never-met grandparents' footsteps, becoming an actor himself, still almost always playing the villain.

Percy the Yuan-Ti

Lambert and Carol's second child, and only child he didn't name himself, at Carol's behest. She's much more expressive and playful than Yuan, but a bit of a troublemaker, liking to deceive people for fun. She's a bit violent as well, though this is often accidental, as she's not a good judge on just how much force is required to make an innocent gesture into something painful (she may wrap an injury too tightly or pinch someone to the point of pain).

She's still a child, but for the time being, she has dreams of exploring the world, like her dad and mom do.

Pyrite

Pyrite joined the crew thinking it was a 'Pyrite Ship' of her kind, and closed herself off when she realized it was just a bunch of other strange species. Lambert, always worrying about people's emotions, ends up visiting her often, giving her gifts or asking if she wants to play, assuming she was a child. Eventually, she did open up to Lambert, and started following him around like a baby chick, much to his joy. In time, he asked her if she wanted to be his daughter, and not really knowing what that meant, she said 'yes.'

In reality, she is much older than Lambert, though she has the processing power of a child.
